About the Opportunity
Meli is seeking a dedicated Men’s Practitioner to join our team at The Orange Door, Barwon. This vital role is focused on delivering high-quality, integrated support for individuals and families affected by family violence. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide tailored interventions, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of women, children, and families, while promoting accountability and behavior change in individuals using violence.
As a Men’s Practitioner, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning using established frameworks, including MARAM.
- Deliver targeted interventions to address complex needs and risks.
- Collaborate closely with partner organizations to provide coordinated and effective service responses.
- Support clients in navigating pathways to safety and stability.

- 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
- $97,614 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

About You
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Holds a degree in Social Work (or equivalent); or be working towards in line with recommendation 209 of the Royal Commission into Family Violence. Click here for more information: https://www.vic.gov.au/mandatory-minimum-qualifications-specialist-family-violence-practitioners
- Experience working with men, children and families with complex needs in any of the following service areas: Family Services, Child Protection, Family Violence, Disability, Housing, Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Drugs.
- A sound knowledge of sector reforms, theoretical frameworks and relevant legislation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a high level of organisational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
