About the Opportunity
Join the Youth Support Service (YSS) and make a real difference in the lives of young people at risk of entering the Youth Justice system. In this rewarding role, you will engage with vulnerable young people and their families through assertive outreach, providing tailored interventions to help them overcome challenges like homelessness, school disengagement, and complex behaviors. You’ll be part of a passionate team dedicated to fostering positive change and connecting young people to prosocial activities. As part of Meli’s Justice Programs, you’ll collaborate with services like Youth Justice Community Support, After Hours Service, Group Conferencing, and Reignite.

- $97,614 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

About You
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Youth Work, Social Work, or Community Welfare (Diploma+), or a relevant combination of education and experience.
- Experience in case management and/or brief intervention support for vulnerable individuals and families, utilising the Best Interests Case Management Framework.
- Proven ability to engage and manage at-risk young people, including those exhibiting challenging behaviours, with an understanding of trauma and trauma-informed practices.
- Skills in conducting needs assessments and risk evaluations to inform planning and interventions.
- Commitment to the Victorian Child Safe Standards, fostering a child-safe culture in practice.
- Experience with high-risk youth, particularly in youth offending, and proficiency in Motivational Interviewing techniques is highly desirable.
