About the Opportunity
Join Meli’s dedicated team as part of our Children’s Contact Service (CCS) where you’ll contribute to creating safe and supportive environments for children and families navigating separation. These programs provide neutral, family-friendly spaces for supervised contact visits and facilitated changeovers, prioritising the safety and well-being of children and young people. In this role, you’ll play an essential part in supporting families, supervising contact visits, facilitating transitions, and maintaining detailed records to ensure the best outcomes for all parties involved. By fostering a child-focused approach, you’ll help families achieve greater self-management of contact arrangements where safe and appropriate, while contributing to the continuous quality improvement of our services.

About You
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A relevant qualification or currently studying social work, psychology or other related discipline relevant to the human services sector.
- Understanding and knowledge of family and separation issues, child development, family violence, trauma informed and strength-based practice.
- Well-developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including experience in undertaking observation of parent/child behaviour.
- Comprehensive written skills including the ability to produce objective, factual based case notes and reports for court proceedings and funding body reviews.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and ensures compliance in work practices.
