Are you someone who values the safety and wellbeing of children and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families navigating separation? Meli is seeking a caring and observant Supervised Contact Worker to join our Supervised Contact Services team in Hamlyn Heights.

This role is ideal for someone who values child safety, understands the complexities of family separation, and is committed to supporting children’s wellbeing through respectful, trauma-informed practice.

About the Role

As a Supervised Contact Worker, you will:

  • Supervise and support contact visits between children and their parents or significant family members
  • Facilitate safe and structured changeovers between parents
  • Prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children at all times
  • Maintain accurate, objective records and prepare reports for court and service reviews
  • Provide orientation and support to families accessing the service
  • Work with families to support safe, self-managed contact arrangements where appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with program policies and child safety standards

  • $37.43 p/h + Super + Casual Loading

What We're Looking For

We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

  • A relevant qualification or currently studying social work, psychology or other related discipline relevant to the human services sector.
  • Understanding and knowledge of family and separation issues, child development, family violence, trauma informed and strength based practice.
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including experience in undertaking observation of parent/child behaviour.
  • Comprehensive written skills including the ability to produce objective, factual based case notes and reports for court proceedings and funding body reviews.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and ensures compliance in work practices.
