We are seeking a dedicated Community Engagement officer to join the Safe at Home program, a transformative initiative that enables victim survivors to remain safe and secure in their homes while holding perpetrators accountable.
About the Role
As a Community Engagement Officer, you will:
- Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to support the Safe at Home program’s objectives.
- Plan and deliver impactful engagement activities, including events, campaigns, and education sessions to increase awareness and understanding of family violence.
- Foster partnerships and raise the visibility of the Safe at Home program across the Geelong region through proactive engagement and advocacy.
- Support community education to help shift values, promote early intervention, and ensure victim survivors’ safety and independence.
- Contribute to the program’s evaluation, reporting, and advocacy efforts to ensure continuous improvement and positive outcomes.
Position Details
- Fixed term position until 27 December 2027
- 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
- $106,644 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Community Development, Health Promotion, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement and knowledge of the family violence system.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences and build rapport with key stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and aligning your work with Meli’s values and child-safe standards.
