As the Child and Family Team Leader (Strengthening Families), you will guide a dedicated team of practitioners delivering evidence-based programs to families with complex and escalating needs. Your leadership will help shape a responsive, client-centred service that builds resilience, promotes healing, and supports long-term wellbeing for children and families across the Barwon Southwest region.
About the Role
As a Child and Family Team Leader (Strengthening Families), you will:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of program delivery, ensuring a client-centred and evidence-informed approach
- Support staff in managing complex caseloads, conducting risk assessments, and developing measurable goals and action plans
- Lead team development through supervision, performance management, and professional growth opportunities
- Collaborate across service streams to ensure integrated, agile responses that meet the evolving needs of families
Position Details
- Fixed term position until 30 January 2026
- Part-time working 0.8 FTE (60.8 hours per fortnight) or 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
- $119,093 (pro-rata) p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or equivalent, or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation with a demonstrated compliance in work practices.
- Demonstrated experience providing positive leadership and supervision with a focus on support and accountability of a team within a complex service delivery environment.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the organisation and externally.
- Highly developed communication skills with an ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively in both written documents and verbal interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop processes and systems to improve the quality of service ensuring sustainability of service activity.
