At Meli, we’re proud to be the NDIS Early Childhood Partner for the Barwon region, delivering the Early Childhood Approach to children aged 0-5 with developmental delays and concerns, and 0-8 with disability. We’re currently looking for a compassionate and experienced Senior Practitioner - Early Connections to join our dedicated team.
This role is all about leadership, collaboration, and impact. As the Senior Practitioner, you’ll support and guide a team of Early Childhood Practitioners, ensuring high-quality, family-centred services that build capacity and foster inclusion. You’ll also directly support children and their families, taking on a caseload focused on those with more complex needs.
About the Role
As a Senior Practitioner, you will:
- Provide day-to-day support, coaching and professional guidance to a team of Early Childhood Practitioners
- Hold a caseload, working directly with children and families with more complex needs
- Deliver a mix of services, including individual and group-based support, assessments, and observations
- Support families to understand and access the NDIS, build their own skills and confidence, and connect with appropriate supports
- Work closely with the Team Leader to manage operational tasks like reporting, compliance, and stakeholder relationships
- Contribute to a positive, values-led team culture where families, children, and staff feel safe, supported, and empowered

- Fixed term position until 30 June 2026
- 1 FTE working 38 hours per week
- $106,644 p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Psychology or equivalent and substantial experience
- Strong understanding of the needs of children aged 0-9 and their families with children with developmental delay, concern, or disability, including milestones and behaviours.
- Developed strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills including the ability to engage with families, stakeholders, and community organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex cases requiring strong understanding of the NDIA legislation, NDIA processes and the needs of children and their families.
- Understanding of the purpose and expectation of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture
